Customer Voice Group
Our Customer Voice Group is a group of up to 15 customers who all live in properties managed by the YHN Group (Newcastle City Council/Leazes Homes tenants).
The group was established in 2017 to act as the voice of our customers and to provide an official route for customers to feed into strategic decision making. There is a strong link between the committee and YHN’s Board, which helps our organisation to respond to customer needs and wishes from the very highest level.
We recruited people to the CVG who had a real commitment to social housing and the aims of Your Homes Newcastle and who could use their own experience in an objective way. Each of the members brings a wide range of skills from their employment or voluntary roles.
Together they work to strengthen the tenant voice, understand and improve the customer experience, understand new innovations in customer service and review complaints trends and how we learn from these.

-
Tony Moore – Chair of YHN’s Customer Voice Group
I live in Walker at the moment – but I have lived in YHN homes in Shieldfield and Heaton.
I joined the Customer Voice Group after several years as an involved customer – and following a five-year stint as a board member.
I’m passionate about inclusion, equality and diversity and good customer service!

Jackie Greenwood – Vice Chair
As a YHN tenant of over 15 years I wanted to join the group so that I could represent the views of some of the more mature tenants. I have been retired for around 5 years, having worked until I was in my early 70s mostly in offices as an accountant. I also volunteered with The Prince's Trust, teaching young people about how to start up their own businesses.
As a member of the group since it started, I feel we have made a positive contribution towards how the directors of YHN view their tenants. I know this has been reflected in many of the new initiatives that are being put into place. I believe this can only benefit us all and I hope you agree and participate in the various surveys taking place. Remember “shy bairns get nought”!
