Customer Service Committee
Customer Service Committee
Our Customer Service Committee is a group of 15 customers who all live in properties managed by YHN (they are Newcastle City Council tenants).
The committee was established in 2017 to act as the voice of our customers and to provide an official route for customers to feed into strategic decision making. There is a strong link between the committee and YHN’s Board, which helps our organisation to respond to customer needs and wishes from the very highest level.
We recruited people to the CSC who had a real commitment to social housing and the aims of Your Homes Newcastle and who could use their own experience in an objective way. Each of the members brings a wide range of skills from their employment or voluntary roles.
Together they work to strengthen the tenant voice, understand and improve the customer experience, understand new innovations in customer service and review complaints trends and how we learn from these.
You can meet some of our CSC members below!
-
Tony Moore – Chair of YHN’s Customer Service Committee
I live in Walker at the moment – but I have lived in YHN homes in Shieldfield and Heaton.
I joined the Customer Service Committee after several years as an involved customer – and following a five-year stint as a board member.
I’m passionate about inclusion, equality and diversity and good customer service!

Jackie Greenwood – Vice Chair
As a YHN tenant of over 15 ye,ars I wanted to join the committee so that I could represent the views of some of the more mature tenants. I have been retired for around 5 yearrs (having worked until I was in my early 70s) mostly in offices as an accountant. I also volunteered with the Princes Trust teaching young people about how to start up their own businesses.
As a member of the committee since it started, I feel we have made a positive contribution towards how the directors of YHN view their tenants. I know this has been reflected in many of the new initiatives which are being put into place. I believe this can only benefit us all and I hope you agree and participate in the various surveys taking place. Remember “shy bairns get nought”!

Liviu Popoviciu
I live in Arthur’s Hill. I became involved in the local Tenants’ and Residents’ Group about ten years ago and joined the Newcastle Independent Tenant Voice (NITV) panel in 2016. In 2017, I became the NITV representative on the newly formed YHN Customer Service Committee. I was motivated by the desire to understand how YHN manages its relationship and its commitments to customers as well as what it does to improve the customer experience.

I’m from West Denton. I got involved in the Committee to learn more about housing and the needs of the community.
My passion is building better communities and making the community something to be proud of.
