Rachel Taylor
Interim Group Managing Director
Rachel started with YHN in May 2023, as Group Director of Finance, ICT & Risk and took over as Interim Group Managing Director in September. Rachel already had experience of working with YHN due to a position on the Board of our previous subsidiary. Her thirty-year career has encompassed several positions in the public sector and social housing, including with North Star Housing in Stockton and Manchester-based housing provider Mosscare St Vincent’s.
Most recently, Rachel was Director of Housing and Corporate Services at South Tyneside Homes, supporting the organisation right through the crucial timeframe of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sahreen Safdar
Interim Group Director of finance, Risk and ICT
Sahreen started with YHN in January 2024. Sahreen has experience as an Executive and non-Executive within the social housing and charitable sectors.

Jen Vinton
Group Director Housing
Jen oversees YHN’s housing customer and supported services functions. She has a long career working in customer focused roles, which began at Tyne and Wear County Council in 1983. From there, she moved into a Clerical Assistant role in the old housing department at Newcastle City Council. She has developed her career within housing in Newcastle through a number of different roles primarily within investment delivery, regeneration and development.
