Apprenticeships now live!

Apprenticeships now live!

We are opening our doors to apprentices, in a bid to help create more opportunities for our communities.

We have a range of roles, from customer services to business administration on offer, in a move that it hopes will help more people enter the housing sector and build a successful career.

One of a range of opportunities we provide to support people – including its customers- to secure employment, we are also offering advice to their customers who are considering this route to work, helping guide them on the opportunities available to them based on their skills and interests.

YHN managing director, Tina Drury, said the organisation is keen to find ways to support customers to secure a rewarding career pathway.

She said: “We know that – just like a secure home – finding a rewarding job can be the foundation of a happy and fulfilling life, and we want to support our customers to achieve that. We don’t just offer housing services, we offer so much more than that to make living easier for customers.

“Apprenticeships are a brilliant hands-on way for people to enter the world of work, equipping them with the skills to build a career, and we’re very proud to be able to offer the opportunity to our customers and others.  Apprentices help us as much as they help those undertaking them, so it’s a great win-win for YHN and for our customers.

“Apprenticeships are just one pathway YHN offers to support people into employment.  The organisation has a successful Your Homes Your Jobs scheme, through which its employs 30-40 of its own customers per year on a fixed term contract, providing a platform for people to get experience and to help take steps into employment.  It’s a hugely successful scheme with 90 per cent of those taking part progressing to a permanent role either with YHN or elsewhere.”

Tina added: “Fourteen per cent of people who work at YHN started with us through a training programme – be that an employability scheme or apprenticeship – so we have a real track record of developing talent and delivering for our customers in the process.  I am sure this latest round of apprenticeships will achieve the same and we look forward to welcoming more new starters to bolster our team over the coming weeks.”
