Resident survey by Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities

Resident survey by Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities

The Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities is conducting a survey to gather baseline results from customers about how landlords are currently performing against the commitments set out in the Social Housing White Paper (SHWP).

It will cover the five key themes of the SHWP: keeping properties in good repair, maintaining building safety, respectful and helpful engagement, responsible neighbourhood management, and effective handling of complaints.

Some of the questions will be similar to the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs), however this survey will not be used to measure the performance of individual landlords, and they will not be identifying which landlord responses relate to. The survey data will not be shared with anyone outside of DLUHC.

If selected, customers will be contacted by telephone or email from 21st March and they will be informed the research is being conducted by IFF Research on behalf of DLUHC.

The survey will allow all future improvements to tenant satisfaction and experiences to be robustly measured, and to ensure suitable targets are set for landlords going forward.
